Disc Golf Clinic at King's Christian Church - This is part of the Club's community outreach mission. A few of us will go down there and give a simple clinic for congregation members and then play a round on their 9 hole course with them to apply what we hopefully taught them.

2009 Ice Bowl - the people at King's Christian Church are very interested in holding an Ice Bowl on their course. The Club is looking for anyone who would be interested in running this event. Because of the church'es involvement, it has the possibility of being a very large event. Please contact any of the GCF Board Members if you are interested.

New GCF Merchandise - We have ordered several Columbia "Omni-Dri" crew neck shirts that will be available in about 3 weeks. There will be two colors, vermilion (red, but a little orange) and gray. They will have the GCF logo screen-printed on them and should be for sale for about $30 - $35. I'll have more info when they are finished.

Basket install at Pattee - the basket install IS ON for August 10th at Pattee Canyon. Some Forest Service personal will be there to iron out some of the last details of where and how, but sounds like we will be allowed to use vehicles to get them to where they need to go on the course. ANYONE HAVE ACCESS TO A 4-WHEELER?? They would rather have us use an ATV than drive a small truck on the course. I'll have further details in the coming days in another thread.

The Benefit - the date of The Benefit, formerly known as the Blue Mountain Benefit, has changed from Sept. 6th to September 20th. We have started to gather sponsors, but more are always welcome. We are offering hole sponsorships for $25 to any individual or business and that can be in the form of cash OR gift certificates. Please contact me if you would like to help out with sponsorships.

Huckleberry Challenge - This unofficial event will be held on August 2nd at Whitefish Mtn Resort (formerly Big Mtn Resort). This is a GCF Tag challenge as well as an unofficial tournament. More info can be found in either the tournaments section or the NW MT section of these forums. Please spread the word about this event. This course has been a long time coming, and due to the hard work and perseverence of Ken Deeds, it is now a reality. Having said that, the "powers that be" for the resort are now having second thoughts about the viability of DG on their resort, so it's up to us to rally as many people as we can to make the trip up there and show them that it is a great course (from what I've seen, it really is!!!) and that they can make money off of it through things such as holding tournaments (how great would it be to rent out a condo right on the course for a tourney?), disc sales, and maybe most importantly, beer and food sales. Do your best to make it up there.

Tee signs at Blue - I'm sure everyone who has played at Blue this year has noticed that several of the signs have been vandalized. We will be designating the Hat Fund to go towards paying for fixing them. It will be fairly expensive as we have to replace the plexiglass with Lexan and have new decals made for a couple of the signs, so please give what you can to the Hat Fund.
