So here we go again! I know it's early still, but our tourney will be Saturday August 18th this year, and looks to be filled with talent locally. New teeboxes and pin locations are in the works, and I would like all of your opinions on PDGA sanctioning. I will do it if you guys promise to show up, haha! I'm "official", so if you guys are for it, I am too. And all AM divisions will receive a Bighorn Ridge custom stamped Innova disc, possibly open divisions too!

As far as music goes, Groovin' on the Gallatin will be the next week August 24 and 25. I just can't run an entire music festival and a disc tourney 13 miles away at the same time, I stretched myself entirely too thin. So how about two straight weekends in Big Sky? There are worse places to be! We will have a small disc course at Groovin', and maybe even a tourney there too. No more putting corral. But I am going to steal a page from the GCF and bring a lunchtime band to the tourney on August 18th. Stay tuned, they will be good!

Also, August 19th, we will host a Discraft Ace Race, hole in one competition! This ones all about aces, and your players pack is worth more than your entry fee.

There it is, thoughts, questions, concerns??

Im in if sanctioned.

I have to choose my events based on achieving a rating. Due to a very busy event schedule I am limiting tourneys to sanctioned and points series.

Bluegrass

I just realized Targhee Bluegrass Fest is the weekend before our tourney, and my boss runs Big Sky Big Grass Fest, so I am going to see about something special for afterwards. That will guarantee all of you to spend Saturday night here, and play a noon Ace Race Sunday. So stay tuned!

After Zoo Town this weekend, my mind is racing with ideas!! Party

Discs

Made the order today.

4 Blizzard Champion plastics! TeeDevils, Apes, Katanas, and Wraiths. I absolutely love my 134 Wraith. They are so much fun to throw, and I can't wait to fill my bag with others! Big smile
Also, DX TeeBirds, Destroyers, Classic Rocs, and Classic Aviars, and Star Xcals and TL's. I will try to link up a photo of the print by Matt Brown, a great lot poster artist from Denver.
Oh, and if we get CFR status like I'm hoping we will have Gummy Champion Rhynos, and Glow Champ Xcals, Glow Champ Teebird(+), and a few Glow Champ Aviars all with the sweet Big Sky Community Corporation stamp as well. I need to sanction tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Working on the halftime band...

BYOP dubs instead

So Sunday August 19th, there will be no ace race, we are instead hosting a 27 hole bring your own partner Doubles event for money and prizes. Sign up between 9am and 945. Tee off at 10. Divisions will be based on who is playing, and we should know a lot more about that on Saturday. The discs look awesome, I posted a pic on the Montana Disc Golf Facebook page, maybe someone could link it? My computer is down. Angry But the weekend is going to be a hell of a time, and if you contact me, I will direct you to a secret camping site! Wink I have told a few of you already I believe.
So once again, lots of prizes, free lunch and free bluegrass! Registration and lunch will be in the shaded picnic area next to the playground as you enter the park. Hoping to see a lot of you!

Oh, and the week after.. www.groovin-on.com Click the poster to be linked to the Facebook page! We are all in this year again!! Party

IT'S ON AT BIGHORN

Well my buddy and I decided we are going to make the trip from Missoula to the great Big Sky. Davie Pretty excited to shoot this tourney and so is my buddy. We were wanting to know more information about that secret camping. We will definently be looking for a place to camp out. We will be headed out Friday after work so we'll getting up there late Friday. So any camping info A.S.A.P. would be greatly appreciated.

Very nice! Camping info

Cash I will PM anyone directions to secret camping, which is my house and the land around it. But I do want to limit it to 25 or so. So far, I have 2 confirmed! We even have a little private disc course. The only stipulations are that you camp away from view of my one neighbor and the road across the valley, as the unincorporated town has camping rules for some reason.
As far as the course goes, we built two new pin placements today, and moved all of the baskets to their tourney locations for Saturday. I went from 3 down on the previous setup to 4 up on the new course. Should be fun! Harry, I will PM you directions now. Same goes for any others who are interested! Beer
