I am not sure if I mentioned this on the old forum or not but the North Idaho Recreators Disc Golf Club now officially has leadership (and membership).
President - Tom Walker
Vice President - Scott Wardian
Treasurer - Jack Wardian
Secretary - Cody Slonim
I think we are up to 15 or so paid members too. We are off to a decent little start with enough money so far for a first club disc order and tags. I think we are going to get some CFR discs that Innova has made available for Charter Member club discs and fundraising.
A couple of short term goals from the club are to organize a work party for Cherry Hill DGC before the Cherry Hill stop of the INWS to flatten out some tee pads (a few are pretty bad) and to work with the city of Post Falls to get 3 holes added to Corbin Park DGC and add a putting practice basket like Cherry Hill has.
I'll post more when I know more.
Thanks for the link to our website Bob and website re-designers, I appreciate it. I see a few GCF forum users over there though we don't have a lot of content there yet.
The city of Coeur D'Alene parks n rec department recieved a new tee pad blue print that i drew for replacing hole #10 t-pad on Cherry Hill, yesterday, as required. I picked the most involved tee pad to work on in hope that the lesser one's may be worked on by us without a written description of whats involved. Monty, the head cheese, seems receptive to working w/us- the public
I hope the P&R dept in Post Falls will also work well w/us concerning Corbin parks future course possibilities
UPDATE:Corbin park disc golf is(and has been since April) a full 18 hloecourse thanks to the Wreckreators of North IDAHO! Congratulations to Scott, Jack, Kevin, JP and the rest of the club for the work involved to this date. 3 courses at Farragut St park(4 with the mix), Cherry Hill & Bluegrass parks in CDA, Corbin park in Post Falls, Shwietzer and Silver Mtn courses, not to mention some private course.Weekly league and random dbls, bag tags, work parties, etc. DG is thriving in N. IDAHO! Go NIRDGC, TW
Tom, thanks for the update and good to hear from you!! Sounds like things are really rolling in N Idaho.
I played the course at Silver Mtn a couple weeks ago and it really sucked. Def not worth the $17 to ride the gondola up to play. Schweitzer's courses suck too. Stick to PF, CDA, or Farragut.
2010 league play coming to an end. We played the last installment of Cherry hill last night. Kevin Locke brought and took back home the #1 tag w/a -7. Myself and Big Jarred M threw -6 for the #2 and #6 tags. Thanks to Max for running this league event.
Next Thursday will be final Corbin park league night. All 18 baskets are now in untill may 2011
What should we do for the finals? Seems alot of players really liked league played finals up at Farragut St park (which we've done the last 3 yrs)
The last night for Corbin park league was won by Tom Walker (me)with a personal best of-10. Birbied 8 of the front 9 holes
Archie came in a tight second with a round of-9. No word on a finals date yet.
nice! -10... is that about a 1026-ish rated round or so @ Corbin??
I don't know?
Our league finals will be sat Oct 23rd. Not sure of the format, (we had singles & dbls) but did hear that 2 rounds are sched. Jarred and Jason TDing, with seven (prepaid) ctp holes
among a small pay in/payout i presume???

I hope lots of our low# tags make it out

Here are some updates from the happenings of the NIRDGC:
The club is working with the city of Post Falls to expand Corbin Park DGC to 18 holes. THe addition of 3 new holes, the alteration of current hole 4 to reduce user conflict, and the possibility of adding a putting practice basket are all currently being discussed.
Bag tags have been ordered from Sign Pro in Missoula once again and club discs are in the works. Innova has made available to us up to 100 of their CFR line discs. THe CFR discs to become club discs were put up to a member vote and early leaders are Champ. Glo Orc, STAR Whippet X, Champ TeeRexX, and Champ Cro. Club dissc will be ordered later this week.
The is club still trying to organize a work party for Cherry Hill the weekend before the tourney in an attempt to flatten some of the teepads that have excessive slope to them, mainly holes5,6,and 10.
League and bag tag rounds start Wed. April 29 and will rotate between Corbin Park and Cherry Hill DGC.
