Sportsman's surplus (in Tremper Shopping Center, next to ACE) has their new discs in. Lots of them. Lots of Star plastic, lots of pro, lots of Bosses, Grooves, Pigs, lots and lots of stuff. The gentleman said the stuff is moving quickly.

Echo Star ROCs

for anyone who didn't get Jered's text message:
"Brady's just got a new order in, tons of sweet discs... echo star rocs, etc, etc"

I was @ Brady's in less than 5min after getting the message Laughing out loud

picked up a sick 20th Aniversory Echo Star San Marino ROC. Apparently they misunderstood the "Big Bird" 20th Aniv. stamp as a DX disc, IT WAS ONLY $8!!!!!!!!!

super stroked about my score, I went back for more..... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE BEAT ME TO MY SECOND HELPING!! ARRRG!!!!!

They also got some Champ Destroyers, some R-Pro stuff.. Cro, Skeeter, etc

Those 20th anniversary San

Those 20th anniversary San Marino Rocs are sweeeeeet! My dad got some in last week. D, if you can get them there for only $8 then you should get them there. From what I understand from Innova they only released 25 per retailer so they are quite limited but they also said they will be permanently releasing the STAR San Marino Roc in their regular production line later this year. That's nice!

What's up with the 20th Roc?

What's up with the 20th Roc? The gent at Brady's claims only 200 of these were dropped. I can't believe that myself, but how big a producion was this disc? My point, is it a collecter's item, one of those special discs, or should this be put right into the bag (damn does it feel good in the hand)?

By the way, the other guy at Brady's says his was the first store to bring Roc's to Missoula back in 1989. He was at a sales show in Atlanta when he met Dave at the Innova booth, who was pushing the sport hard, and had a bunch of new discs called the Roc. So this guy bought a box of them and, voila, twenty years later he is still amazed how much plastic he sells.

Need a wallhanger?

Just guessing, but there were atleast 1,000 of the 20th Anniversary Rocs at World's, so while they may be limiting the amount they sell to retailers, there was a somewhat sizeable run of them produced, although not all of them are in the Echo plastic.

If anyone decides to throw theirs and wants another for a wallhanger, I have a black one with a red stamp that still has the Echo sticker in mint condition (disc never been thrown) that I'll part with for $65. It'll be a steal at that price come next spring.

The 20th Anniversary stamp

The 20th Anniversary stamp could be considered a wallhanger, for the stamp only, really though. As Scott mentioned above, Innova will be adding the STAR SAN MARINO ROC into its normal production line this fall, so if you can hold off till then, put it on the wall - if not, throw that sucker and reap the benefits! My decision was quick and easy: throw that mo-fo! and they are shweeet! can't wait till it beat up a little bit, oh man its gonna be dizope!

one more roc question

ok, one last one-handed question. How is the san marino roc going to fly differently than my new kc pro roc from zoo town? It looks dome-ier, but how does that translate?

prob should be over in technique, but here we are

it's really hard to pin-point

it's really hard to pin-point myself, a San Marino aviar seems softer, and thats about it. San Marino ROCs seem more stable (too me anyway) and maybe softer. Old san marinos seem to have a flat top. etc etc Simply put, if you throw the different molds, or whatever they are, there IS a difference... IMO

San Marino's are usually

San Marino's are usually between a Rancho and an Ontario in stability. Not sure how the newer Star Rocs will fly compared to a KC Pro though.

another disc I saw

I swung by Sportsman's today and bought a new Champion Boss. It is a David Feldberg 2008 World Champion Boss (1X). Are these new, or have they beeen out since last year? Pretty cool to have the Boss as a signature disc. It's no Roc, Aviar, Gazelle, Eagle, Pulse, Avenger or the Smokey Double D Hellfire Inferno, but it still is a cool disc.

Ya, they have been out since

Ya, they have been out since worlds last year. I think that all regular runs of Champ Bosses have the Feldberg stamp on them. Not completely sure about that though.
