Should be a great season for the INWS with the expanded schedule and added venues. Good luck to all heading over there this weekend!

I've been watching the weather closely on this one as it will be the start to my tournament season. The weather for Sat. and Sun. are as follows - 53 for the high and rainy both days (at least that is what they are forcasting as of now). I am looking forward to it regardless and am looking forward to seeing the GCF crew as well. Safe travels to all. Here's a link to the onlne Downriver Reg. thru PDGA for as long as it is still available:

On a side note, registration is open for the Lilac City Open - there are already 19 players registered.

I do certainly hope that I am wrong. I checked the local news stations and 2 of 3 say no rain on Sat. and 2 of 3 say rain likely on Sun. Probably won't be anything worse than Zoo Town last year Big smile

2009 DRO

Greetings from the TD.
The weather looks to be in the mid fifties with a 40% chance of rain, Saturday and Sunday. That could mean some Spring showers or we could get a soaker.
Sounds like Rocky Mountain Spring Weather to me.
Ah heck, what's a little hail to a bunch of disc golfers?
The online registration may have closed, or might still be available. If they let you sign up, I'll hear about it.
I'll be at the course most of the day Friday, and will be around to get the doubles going, and taking registrations all the while. I've got 50 PAID registrations, and I anticipate about 20 more based on rumors and phone calls.
I'll be at the SDGA Meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, 6:30pm at the Season Ticket, across the street from the Arena. I'll take regies there as well.
Are you planning on coming, Christian?

Looks like GCF'ers are holding their own. Christian and McCoy tied for the lead after day one in the Open division and Jon Graff and Dave Spencer tied for the lead in their division, too.

Christian had pretty smooth

Christian had pretty smooth sailing in the final nine but McCoy recovered nicely from a couple of frusterating holes to take second place from Jeremy Thornton on the last hole with a chain out ace that was siiiick eventhough it didn't stick. Thornton got caught up in some trees and took a 4 which put him in a tie for 3rd with Eric Brown. They decided to playoff for the $$$, not sure how that went. Fun tourney, lots of good learning experiences, played with some good guys - nice weekend overall. Thanks for paying out script Stimpi and not sticking us with random discs. I'm looking forward to seeing your stock soon. Hope to see many of you at Cherry Hill.

Congrats to all the GCFers

Congrats to all the GCFers who placed, and thanks for coming out to Spokaloo. It was good to meet and play with Jon and Dave from Missoula.

Scott, I was hoping to see you have a stronger finish from you after the first day. It's like you took lessons from me on how to shit the bed in a tournament.

Ah well, Cherry Hill is up next.

We're at our best when it's from our hips

Yeah Lyle, that egg that I

Yeah Lyle, that egg that I laid was a real stinker. I felt good after my first round and even found some bright spots in my second considering I had 4 penalty strokes and still only finished 5 up. I had a good mindset going into the last round and I never lost my cool even after starting with 4 straight bogies on 4 easy holes, par on a hard one (11) then continuing the bogie roll. I had a couple really nice birdies but just couldn't hit ANY lines the last round. My 5 on 20 followed by my 6p on 2 really hurt but I never quit, that's why I ran my 45 footer for bird on 6 - my last hole - that was a nice way to finish the round. It was a good learning experience though and I got to play with some great guys. Seeing Joe's ace on 17 was sweet. Too bad Steve didn't put the top 5 in the final flight, would have been fun to see what Damien could have done.
