We will be holding two meetings in the next week. The first, at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 16th at Off the Leaf, will be short and centered on info gathering from interested parties. The second, at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 23rd at Off the Leaf, will be mandatory for those interested in stepping up and running Billings Disc Golf. There will also be voting taking place, so even if you don't want to run things, I suggest you attend if you care what the future of Billings disc golf will bring. Decisions need to be made, as the league and tourney season are quickly approaching. We will decide upon leaders, club name and structure, membership style, and incorporation. If you do not show up, or do not inform me or someone else that you can't make it, it will be assumed that you have no interest in the managerial capacities of leagues or tournaments. I will text this info to as many numbers as I have, post it on GCF, TLJ, and every related Facebook page and group. So tell your friends if you believe they are interested. I don't have everyone's number. Thank you in advance for taking the initiative.

Meeting Notes

The meeting went well, last night. Info gathering session concerning what members would like to see for the future of disc golf in Billings. Next Sunday, Feb. 23rd, we will be holding another meeting. I will make an agenda to be followed during that meeting.

Objectives include: Will Air Fairways remain our main club concerning leagues and Spring Fling/States/State Doubles? Will we start a new club separate from Air Fairways? Which individuals will control the existing/new club?

Other decisions, such as new club name (if applicable), incorporation, league membership, and supporting officers will be voted on at a later date.

Decisions will be made at this meeting, so whether or not you are stepping up in a role, league members are still encouraged to attend in order to voice their opinion and vote.

Airfairways Will Live On

Based on a simple majority vote this evening, it was decided that Airfairways is, and will remain, our flagship club associated with Pioneer Park Leagues (Tuesday nights), the annual Spring Fling Tournament, and rotating state tournaments (States Points Series Championship and State Doubles). On Tuesday, April 15th, we will hold our first 2014 Pioneer Park league night at 6 PM at Pioneer Park. This night will be dedicated to making club decisions, such as structure, membership, cost of membership, bylaws, etc. We will also hold our first annual election for Airfairways officers. More info on that to come.

On a side note, I would like anyone interested in major involvement in the Spring Fling to contact me. We will hold a meeting in the next couple weeks to go over all that is involved in facilitating a tournament. Contact me via Facebook, GCF PM, email, or phone.

El Presidente

I would like to be the first to announce and congratulate Ken Beck on becoming Air Fairways' newest President. It was a tight race, but Ken's enthusiasm and dedication to disc golf in Billings thrust him to the top. I have great faith in Ken's abilities as a president, and look forward to seeing where he leads us as a club. Congrats, sir!!! Beer
