Its time once again for the Benefit. This year it will be held on June 7th so we could move the Zoo Town Open back to where it is to attract the best on their way to Worlds! It will be a PDGA Sanctioned C-tier tournament. And it is making its return to the mighty Blue Mountain!
At least 3 players are needed per division. Prices are as follows:
All Open Men divisions- $45
Open Women, Advanced Men- $35
Am Women, Intermediate Men- $25
All non current or non members of the PDGA in the above divisions will have a $10 non member fee.
We will also be offering a special non sanctioned Recreational division for $15. There will be an optional $2 ace pot. Am divisions will have the option between 4 different Prodigy discs with the tournament stamp on them.
All Open divisions will be paid in cash, Ams will be paid in schwag.
The schedule for the weekend:
Friday, June 6th:
3:00-5:00pm: Early registration
5:30pm: $5 random draw doubles
Saturday, June 7th:
8:00-8:45am: Last minute registration
9:00am: Players meeting
9:15am: Round 1 tee off from the white tees
Following the first round there will be a lunch break from the blue tees
Following lunch the second round will be played with the awards ceremony following
The layout is going to be straight up Blue Mountain, one round of whites and one round of blues. OB only on 18 and 1 on the road side of the fence, no special basket placements, but with one tweak on the course. Hole 5 white will have a mando to the right side of all the middle trees
Hope to see everyone there! The summer disc golf season is here!
Too bad high school graduations are happening that same day.
but the kids won't be on the course!
Billy just clarified the #5 White Mando over at a post on the GCF Facebook page:
"Sorry should have worded that better. It's to the right of the left side tree... So the gut shot is an option or the big hyzer line"
Noodle arms rejoice!
Yeah sorry should have read that over again. The man do will be to the right of the left most tree in that cluster. So the middle shot through the trees and the hyzer are both in play
Ams will be able to choose one disc from the PA1 and PA4 in the 300 plastic, and the M2 and F1 in 400 plastic
Price change due to state guidelines. The first post has been updated.
Trophies are done, discs will be here Thursday! Almost tourney time! We will be having a ring of fire after the second round before the awards ceremony
Looking for a few early risers to help set up Saturday morning. Also, as always, some people to help count up cards during lunch and after, and for tear down after the tourney.
After hearing from Elder Shane, who says he has a couple of youngsters who want to play (alright!), I've decided that the rec division will play white tees both rounds. Also, they will be the only division who do not have to play the mando on 5
do i need to be pdga registered to play the random doubles?
no, you do not.
