Singles or Doubles "preview" round at the Fort Zoo DGC, SUNDAY @ NOON. We are meeting at the TENNIS courts located on the south side of the fort, accessed from Fort Missoula Road.
There was no mention of playing DOUBLES, but I thought the option would be open and decided upon sunday.
Singles, Doubles, or play alone, but don't miss the chance to see the brand spanking new Fort Zoo course!
Is it pretty safe to assume that there will be a fair amount of OB with all of those roads and trails (sidewalks?) in that area? Are there any mandos? Just curious which holes will give players something to think about when it comes to OB, mados and whatever - not that I will be able to picture anything in my head, just curious. I can't wait.
Holes with significant OB to worry about: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. Holes 3 and 10, while they do have OB, are a little safer.

looking forward for hole 7!
Holes 6 and 14 will have mandos and I think that hole 9 will be a double mando. As Christian said, pretty much every hole will give you something to think about, including hole 7. Wait till you see the surprise for that hole.
Is the course available to play? Will it be a permanent course?
The course is only temporary and won't be marked out until the weekend of the tourney. We have a permit to use it for the second day of the ZTO.
For what its worth, we hope to use the momentum from a successful tourney day there to lobby the city for a course there. The city does have plans already in motion (a couple new soccor fields and maybe a new softball field or two, not sure) for a big chunk of the course. There would be a few other issues with the current layout as a permanent layout, but it is very fun to play while we can.
Had a blast playing the course with people who haven't seen it yet, so lets play another preview round this Sunday evening. Meet at the parking lot by the batting cages and tennis courts off of Fort Missoula road at 4:30.
Come out to the Fort for another preview round this Sunday, May 17 at 4:30. Meet at the parking lot by the tennis courts. If you have a cloth basket please bring it.
I have a Skill Shot that I could bring. Its not a great target, but its something

The Grizzly at the Fort (aka the Green Grizzly, aka Fort Zoo, aka the Red Grizzly, aka the Grizzly at the Zoo) will be playing great I am sure...remembered after tags that Sunday is Michelle's birthday so I may not be able to make it, unfortunately.
Just for fun, the course pars are:
Hole #--Par
1--3 (starting on the grass)
2--3
3--3
4--4
5--3
6--3
7--3 (first hole "in the rough" closer to the old Fort)
8--4
9--3
Front par 29
10-3
11-3
12-5
13-3
14-4
15-3 (first hole back in the grass)
16(Mirkgrass):5
17-4
18-4
Back par 34
Total: Par 63
Both the 5's are eagle-able; one of the 4s (#14) is eagle-able. Toughest birdie on the course is probably #11. 16-17-18 will be legendary. 16 is in fact already legendary, and I say that with no worry of over-hyping it.
