Over 21,000 individuals were served by the Missoula Food Bank in 2016 (they're still tabulating numbers from 2017). That's about 1 in 5 Missoulians. Last year we raised over $500 and about 200 lbs of food. Let's raise the bar this year! Closest to the Pin Prizes, Warp Zones, Mini Holes, and lots of fun to be had in addition to knowing you helped your fellow Missoulians in need!!!

Craziness at Folfing for the Food Bank

We're doing a few fun things to make this a unique event:

Warp Zones - areas that will be marked off on a couple of longer holes. If a player lands in a Warp Zone that player will warp to the green with no penalty.

We will break one hole into two mini holes. Only mini discs will be allowed for use on these holes. (Only minis, no macro discs)

We will have one hole where you will play using normal discs until you are inside the circle. Once inside the circle, you will be required to use a mini (no macros) and putt at the mini basket on top of the normal basket.

We will have one hole with a "No Putt Zone". If you land within 12' of the basket putt out like normal. If you are between 12' and circles edge, you will be required to move to the edge of the circle - with no penalty - and putt from there.

When you arrive at Linda Vista on Saturday, please park on the left side of the parking lot to save room for non-disc golfing cafe patrons. There is absolutely no outside alcohol allowed at Linda Vista. There is beer and wine for sale, as well as some very tasty food, available in the cafe.

Mulligans are available for $3 or three cans of food each, 2 for $5 or 5 cans of food, 5 for $10 or 10 cans of food, or 12 for $20 or 20 cans of food. Mulligans can be paid for at registration or purchased as you need them on the course.

The GCF store will be on hand and will have all of our discs discounted. $5 for DX, $8 for Pro, $12 for Champion, and $15 for Star plastic

Hole info
All holes will play as normal in the short layout at LV with the exception of the following:

Hole 7 - Play the hole as normal until your inside the circle then you'll have to use a mini disc and putt at the mini basket on top of the normal basket

Hole 9 - Drive with a mini disc only. After the drive, play the hole out normally

Hole 13 - will be split into two holes - 13 and 14. Both of these holes will be played with mini discs only to the mini baskets on each hole

Hole 16 - (normal hole 15) - WARP ZONE - If you disc comes to rest inside the circle of cones 'warp' to the drop zone on the green with no penalty

Hole 17 - (normal hole 16) - NO PUTT ZONE - The tee will be shortened. Play the hole as you normally would. If you disc is inside 12', putt out like normal. If your disc is between the 12' circle and the 32' circle you will be required to move your lie to anywhere outside the 32' circle and play from there with no penalty

Hole 19 - (normal hole 18) - WARP ZONE - If you disc comes to rest inside the circle of cones 'warp' to the drop zone on the green with no penalty

Minis - all players will be provided a mini with their registration. Players can use this mini or bring their own to play the mini holes with. No macro discs are allowed - only minis

We hope to see a good turnout to support the Missoula Food Bank! 1 in 5 Missoulians used the Food Bank in 2017. This is your chance to help out your fellow Missoulians and have a good time doing it!

HUGE props to the 23 people

HUGE props to the 23 people who came out to support the Missoula Food Bank at the Folfing for the Food Bank event at Linda Vista today!! What was 2” of fluffy powder at 7:30 this morning turned into 4”+ by tee time and turned into a wet, slushy, windy mess that included wet slushy snowballs falling from the sky by the end of the day. Pretty much everyone who finished both rounds agreed it was some of the toughest conditions they have ever played in.

I’ll post fundraising totals later this week when everything is tallied. Thank You to the people who couldn’t play but still stopped by to make donations!

Big Thanks to Neal Leathers for manning the TD table this morning and to Jon Graff who helped shovel tee pads, helped set the course up, and also donated some sweet plastic for CTP prizes!!! Thanks to Mat Spurlock for the sweet dye job trophies and to Scott Keith for making the scorecards! And a personal Thank You to the Bitterroot Crew of Kody Bullman, Mark Lind, Chad Alberda, and Tim Allsop who helped tear down Tourney Central in record time!

Due to conditions, we didn’t play the mini holes, but still had a lot of fun with the mini putt inside the circle hole, the ‘no putt zone’ hole, and the two warp zone holes.
