I'm heading up to Troy next Sat and will be playing the Hotsprings course on the way back on Sunday, Dec 13th. Would like to get some Zoo Towners (or anyone else who wants to make the trip) up there to check it out, too. Meet at the course a little after 10:00 with the round starting at 10:30. We'll decide the day of if we'll play singles or doubles. Think we'll play for $5 per person so the winner(s?) atleast get their gas paid for, but if people would prefer, we can play for the fun of it, too. The course is only 9 holes, but it is big enough to play a short and a long tee from each hole, so we can play 18 individual holes. If there is enough interest, we can definitly play multiple rounds, too.
Bring along your swimsuit and an extra $5 and soak in the hotsprings after the round, too.
To get to the course from Missoula, head north on 93 towards Polson and turn left (west) on HWY 200. After about 20 miles take a right at Perma on HWY 382 towards Hotsprings (there is a sign) - if you get to Plains, you went too far. After about 20 miles, take a right at the T intersection on HWY 28. After just a couple of miles, you'll come to "The Y" gas station on your left. Take a left just after that on HWY 77 (Hotsprings Rd) towards Hotsprings (there are signs). Follow HWY 77 (Hotsprings Rd) about a mile and a half to the edge of the town of Hotsprings and take a right on Camas Rd. Go one block and take a left on North Rd. Look for the entrance to Camas Hotsprings on your right. Once on the property, take a right at the first Y (left will bring you to the hotsprings and cabins) and park next to the gate. Hole 1 is just a short walk from there. It takes about an hour and 20 minutes - the way I drive, I'm sure you can make it faster - to make it to the course, so think about leaving Missoula around 8:45 - 9:00.
For you folks over in the CDA/Post Falls area, Hotsprings is only a little over 2 hrs away. Take I-90 east and exit at St Regis. Head north on HWY 135 for about 20 miles till you get to HWY 200. Take a right on HWY 200 and go about 10 miles till you get to Perma and take a left on HWY 382. Then follow the same directions as above. Remember that you will lose an hour heading east, so start an hr earlier than you think you need to.
If your planning on making the trip, please post something here or let me know so we know to wait for you to start the round. Hope to see a few carloads make the trip to support this awesome new course!!
Just a reminder that for now the DG is free but its $5 to soak in the hotsprings
i'll have a few seats. is the wheather changing peoploes imind?
My ride just called and said he's taking a snow day, so I won't be making it.
Well, I am psyched by the snow, do not get me wrong, but I was looking forward to some new dg chatter. Does Hotsprings have a permanent course? How is it? What discs do you bring? Who was going to really bring it?

Looks like the weather is turning and Sunday should be rather "balmy" (low 30's for temps). The course in Hotsprings is above a lot of geothermic activity so snow doesn't stay on the ground, so should be an ideal winter round.
We'll be meeting at the 7R gas station (the gas station just north of the interstate on Reserve St) at 8:30 on Sunday morning to form the train up to Hotsprings. Sounds like there are a couple of cars heading up. Not sure how many empty seats are available, but if interested, you can post here to try to find a ride, or just meet us at the 7R and hope there's room. Don't forget your swimsuit to soak in the hotsprings after the round!!
