There appears to be a lack of posts on this site, so I thought I'd let the FlyerForum know what's up in Spokane.
Downriver has many new baskets, Mach 5's, to replace damaged or borrowed ones. The tee signs and posts have been redone, so following the course is a bit easier. You may not know that the course has been pared down to an 18 hole course. Old holes 6,8, and 12 are out. Holes 1, old hole 14 (now 11), and old hole 20 (now 17) all have new tee placements. Some of the signs reflect the "old" holes (example: old hole 11 now has old hole 9's tee sign, which shows fallen trees and 420' rather than the 504 it should read). Many tees have new rubber.
High Bridge has new pin placements for most of the holes, and the baskets are being moved back and forth now and then.
Right across the street/creek/bridge from High Bridge is a new 18 hole course, People's Park, which is layed out with flags and white bucket targets, so far.
Word has it, when we finish People's Park, the city wants us to build one in Camp Sekani, which is an Ex-Boy Scout camp and current off road bicycle trail haven. I guess there are about 100+ acres on the side of Beacon Hill, near the Upriver Dam, for those of you who know Spokane. That should be a beauty.
That's all the news from Lake Spokagon.
