I've always wanted to post more about this little 9 hole course inbetween Whitefish and Kalispell.
After years I'm actually heading out to meet Walt and Neil that built this course. I'm going to take pictures too, because they hand built all their baskets from old cogs and gears and machinery and from weaving actual strands of wood into baskets. They are the most creative and artistic baskets I've seen.
The course is nine holes but has two pins on each hole, so if you walk the nine twice you get in 18 holes of different shots.
Unfortunately people went out there and smashed up there course and baskets. They since closed the course.
Saturday May 1st though they are having a clean up day. They are making the course private and anyone who volunteers to go out and work on the course gets a membership. Any car without the membership tag will be towed in the future. If anyone is up this way on the 1st get a hold of me, we'd love to have any help we can.
If your are a GCF member though and passing through town stop by the KOA campground (can't miss it) and let them know and they'll set you up with a day pass. Acutally quite a cool technical little course and I was bummed to hear they had to close it from vandalism. They server pizza and beer too right near the start of the course, kind of like a club house.

Official Hours are 11 AM to 3 PM at Buffalo Bob's at the KOA campground. Anyone showing up gets a summer pass to use the course!
