Greetings from Butte!
New to the site here and am hoping to make some connections with my local crowd... as well as with all you swell folks.
Tough to be a disc golfer here in the mining city, but we do make do. We have a "course" south of town at Eagles Nest Campground. It is in rough shape (poorly marked, incredible amounts of trash).
I'm looking to connect with other Butte disc throwers (if there are any around here) and look into forming some kind of "club" or "group" to take on making our local course more play-able and clean it up so everyone else who comes through the area doesn't think that we're a bunch of trash-dumping morons.
Thanks for having me!
Several years ago I hosted an event at Eagle's Nest. In preparation we removed at least 10 large garbage bags of trash. About a month after the trash was back, it's pretty disgusting when that area could be a fun place to play.
I'll never forget that Doug. It was the most blatant littering I ever seen in my life. I have heard that it has never changed. Good luck trying to clean that place up.
I remember that event. Sure was a beautiful place to play, minus the litter... Good luck with organizing a club/group/whatever you get going. Sure would be nice to add Butte to the MT tour!
The garbage situation hasn't improved. I try to haul at least full bag out when I play... but it is a losing battle. I'm hoping that a club would encourage people to take a little more pride in a home course and, maybe with some nominal membership fees, pay for a cleanup day.
Let me know if anyone knows some Butte folks! I'll even put together an email list or meet-and-greet at EN.
I sent you a PM about a guy I know in Butte. I'll tell him you might be getting in touch with him.
Drew

Welcome Trout, good to see some Butte disc'rs here! I can't really help with finding anyone, but I'm sure someone here knows some disc'rs there.... maybe doublecyc??
