The Farragut Open will be held on Saturday September 18th at Farragut State Park. We will be playing the Wreckreator DGC and the new Double Black Diamond DGC. My dad (Jack Wardian) will be the TD and I will be his assistant TD so if you have any questions feel free to holler at me here or get ahold of my dad through the PDGA website. He will also be running doubles on Friday evening the 17th and I will post more about that later. We will probably be getting some CFR discs (hopefully those will be ordered soon) for the tournament and may do full color as well but will post more on both when I know more. Online registration is currently available for those who like to register early (which I hope everyone does to make our lives easier). Since we will only be using the 2 courses we will be capping the registrations at 144 players. Here is a link to online registration through the PDGA:

Things are starting to fall

Things are starting to fall in place for Farragut. My dad sent out an order for 25 CRF Champion Katanas and 25 CFR Champion Glo Whippets. Not sure on prices yet but I would guess $20 each. The CFR discs not sold before probably will not be used as payout after either. All Ams will be getting a sweet full color disc, still finalizing that and hopefully it will be a nice enough design that others will want to buy one as well. We've got some other cool stuff that we may do for Am player packs as well that are in the works. I am working on sponsorships too, I have a huge list of businesses to go bug and I've already started. As for camping it appears unlikely that we will reserve a group campsite now as they park sees this as a money making venture and it would cost the tourney about $150 per night to provide camping for a few, so as of now it looks like it will be up to the indivisual golfers to find their own campsites - sorry! If something should change I'll post more but I hate to take on the camping fee and split it among all players when only a small handful of players will camp.

My dad found out that after

My dad found out that after Labor Day Farragut SP stops taking reservations for camping, it is all on a first com first serve basis so that should help for the tourney. I believe most, if not all camp grounds will be open and I doubt if it would still be very crowded that late in the year. This will help remedy a big headache for us TDs and hopefully will still accomodate the players who wish to camp.

I have been diligently

I have been diligently working on getting sponsorships for the Farragut Open - tough work! I have a few nailed down and a few commitments. Here's what I have so far:

Jack's Rapid Fire Plastics Disc Golf Shop (largest sponsor so far Smile )
UPScale Mail - will be printing the scorecards
Stimpi Ridge Disc Golf
The 19th Hole Disc Golf Shop
Dry Fly Distillery
Performance Physical Therapy
R.E.I.

I have made contact with a bunch of other businesses and am persuing more as well. I hope to be able to add to the sponsorships as best as I can. This will be a fun event with some neat surprises too. Innova CFR discs should be in any day too. Registration is up on PDGA, get signed up.

Nothing for sure from them

Nothing for sure from them yet but they have said they will "hook us up with some gift certificates or something." I am just excited that they didn't run me out of the distillery when I stopped by. I should know by the end of the week what they will be willing to do. I did just pick up a bottle of their hard to find whiskey last week, liquor stores in the region had to be drawn in a lottery to get a few cases of their whiskey -sorry though, that will not be available for the tourney Drunk I paid good money for it.

The Champion Katanas and Champion Glo Whippets are in available for purchase for those who are interested. I should have more information on what else will be available soon too Cool

farragut party!

trying trying trying to make this one! the courses are of course awesome and sounds like the payout for both pros and ams will be sweet with sponsorship and CFRs. hopefully i'll manage a late friday afternoon beeline to athol after work...still have to clear this with the relevant authorities, but i am tentatively hopeful. Anyone from Missoula (or helena, for that matter) thinking about going over late friday or saturday early AM? Could improve my chances of getting over there if I could get a carpool together...

With lots n lots of tourneys 2 choose from now one can easily pick n choose and still stay close to home and play several events each summer month.
With that said, who from the mighty MT will be making the trip to n Idaho on the 18th?
