Baskets

It was a warm day at the machine....air was knocked out last night in a storm and it was 93 in the back. Some Flyers got a pix message today of a run of Voodoo's that I made. Looks like I'll be out this week or next week in the field with Dave Mac to help him lay out a new course out in Rolla, MO. He really wants me to organize the company so that it runs more efficiently....lol....should be a good learning experience. So I will be like the Gateway Business Manager, Associate Course Designer, Associate Disc Maker, and Shipping Associate......in that order. Hope everyone is having fun....good luck with the Benefit!!!

Baskets are not cheap to produce...just found out they are sold slightly over cost...the real price is in the course design.

Umm

There is no production line...only one injection molding machine...discs usually fall out into the trap after the injection. I take the discs out, check the weight, write it on the back, then adjust the amout of different plastic to keep the weight in the correct range...you should have a pic on your phone.

for some reason, I didn't get a photo on my phone. If you figure it out, post a picture here.. always wondered what one would look like.

Bob, there's a video on

Bob, there's a video on Youtube about the making of the discs with Steady Ed's ashes in them, and you can see an injection molder doing its thing in those videos.

Also, you can see the parts of an injection molder and what they do drawn out on howstuffworks.com

Vibram has a really cool series on Youtube detailing the whole process of making their discs from rubber from cutting and coloring it to molding it, but they use a different process than injection molding.

We're at our best when it's from our hips
