Christian: Stafford Lake

I'm very happy to report that I'll be playing the Stafford Lake Weekly this saturday. I've never seen the course, but from the pictures online it looks super duper sweet. I don't have my discs down here but a friend I met at the USDGC, John Child, will hopefully have some extras. I'll report back on the course!

Christian:

Stafford Lake was totally awesome today! My partner and I shot 49 on the doubles round, not good enough to take 3rd out of the 9 or 10 doubles teams that were randomly picked from "A" and "B" pools (Pro/Am doubles essentially). The course is awesome, and it was totally green here at the end of december...50 degrees and misty. Great people and a great brewery afterwards....they had some IPAs that were so hoppy I wasn't even sure I liked them, which hasn't ever happened before. Apparently they add hop oil as well as dry hopping--9.5% or something crazy. I will definitely make a tourney here someday...there are like 5 pin positions and a few tees for every hole. The rangers mow the course for them and "love disc golfers" according to the great people I got to play with. Totally sweet! Lots of talent and enthusiasm around here...they drew about 20-25 people for the round, and apparently this area isn't near as much of a hotbed as the sacramento, tahoe, and santa cruz areas in Nor Cal. There were people who had heard of Blue Mountain and the X and I was talking plenty of Montana golf. Check out pictures of the course at:

See y'all soon! I'm back right before the new years...
