Lets play some Golf - course info

Wait till you see the course!! James has been putting in some long hours mowing and the course looks fantastic!!! We will be able to play all the OB that I always wanted to play but never had the time/energy to set up as there is a distinct line of tall grass on nearly every hole which clearly defines the OB. (We will still string the areas that aren't clearly defined.) James and Leroy are working on getting as many of the baskets in the ground as they can, but they might not be able to get them all. Will let you know later this week, but we will probably need a couple of baskets to finish the course.

Here is a summary of the course and OB. Note there are several added OB's, but they are fair (I think) and obvious when you see them. 4 holes have been slightly changed (1, 2, 9, and 10) and hole 15 (the hole throwing up to the dam) has been changed a little more; otherwise the course will play pretty much the same as in the past. Only 2 holes with no OB - 9 and 10 (and possibly 11). Par 56/57 from the short tees. Par 61/62 from the long tees.

Hole 1 - Par 3 - Now with an island green similar to how we played it in Spring of 2010 - reachable for big arms. Considering using the BunCR rule on this hole ONLY. That would be if you go OB, you would rethrow from your lie counting the throw, but not adding another penalty stroke. (If OB from the tee, you would re-tee shooting 2, not 3) Thoughts??

Hole 2 - same with added OB on left side of fairway and basket moved to left side of fairway. Short tee - Par 3 Long tee - Par 4

Hole 3 same - Short tee Par 3. Long tee - Par 4

Hole 4 - same sweet hole but added OB entire length of left side of fairway to the "Goalpost" trees which are both mandos this time. Must go between them. Par 4

Hole 5 - same hole with added OB on left side of fairway Par 3

Hole 6 - same hole with added OB entire length of both sides of fairway. Par 3

Hole 7 - same ultra sweet downhill hole but only 1 mando tree - the second one that we have played in the past. Par 4

Hole 8 - same hole. Par 3

Hole 9 - Basket moved slightly shorter and right but same type of hole throwing into the trees. No OB!!! Par 3

Hole 10 - Tee and basket moved slightly right but same type of hole throwing up through the trees. No OB!! Par 3

Hole 11 Same downhill hole. Possibly added OB right and left side of fairway. Par 3

Hole 12 Same uphill hole. Added OB on right and left side of fairway. Short tee Par 3. Long tee Par 4

Hole 13 Same sweet downhill hole. Par 3.8

Hole 14 Same downhill shot off the dam. Par 3

Hole 15 - added long tee 120' back from short tee. Added INBOUNDS landing areas. Must come to rest in the landing areas - no fly overs or skip outs allowed. Basket might be up on the slope of the dam again. Short tee Par 3. Long tee Par 4

Hole 16 same over the pond shot. Par 3

Hole 17 Moved the basket back about 85'. Added island green - fairway ends where the old green began. Must clear the old green to land on the new green. Short tee par 3. Long tee par 4

Hole 18 Same. Par 3

When you see step up to the tee, all this OB will make sense as the mowing makes it all very visible from the tee.

This is a very unique course for Montana in that it is one of only a couple that is manicured specifically for Disc Golf. This really is disc GOLF in that so many of the holes require you to place your first shot so that you can reach the green on your second shot - just like ball golf. So, who's ready to play some golf!?!? (and soak in the hotsprings, too)
